i-Robot

Based partly on ideas from a series of books by Isaac Asimov, this movie concentrates on generating doubt in Asimov's 3 laws of robotic intelligence. Asimov created this idea since he became fed up with story writers depicting robot monsters, but this movie does just that, but with a interesting twist.

A scientist has been developing robots for use in everyday life and to ensure these robot's are always under the control of humans and do not begin to think for themselves, hence the 3 sets of circular rules. When the 'father' of this creation, Professor Alfred Lanning? apparently commits suicide, he has left a message to contact Detective Del Spooner? who distrusts robots. With help from robopsychologist, Susan Calvin? they begin to uncover a story behind the death of the Professor.

Interesting and fairly enjoyable movie. Well made with good, subtle use of special effects. Will Smith is always fun to watch and does play his characters well. Although Susan Calvin is portrayed by the young and beautiful Bridget Moynahan, in his books, Asimov described her as not being attractive or feminine.
