Slumdog Millionaire

Slumdog Millionaire

I really did not know what to expect and i was surprised. I suspect it would have been a bit pointless showing the story as a sequence, but i think some early parts of the film and story where over "Tarantino'd" but the rest of the film was easily followed as it continued to present the story.

The film really does show the areas of India that are never usually shown, it tells a real story about how kids grow up, how police behave, how criminal gangs operate, with this film showing a dream that everyone has living in the slums, which i suspect is no different from anywhere else in the world. We follow the story of Jamal and how he knew the answers to all the questions on the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Dev's acting and portrayal of Jamal was excellent, truly believable. With a touch of class from Freida Pinto, this film really does open your eyes. You are easily drawn into Jamal's world, as he tells his story.

Definitely need to add this to my collection.
